Nam Dinh Flag Tower

Nam Dinh Flag Tower (also known as Thanh Nam Flag Tower) is one of the four oldest flag posts in the country, built in the early Nguyen Dynasty along with Hue Imperial Citadel Flag Tower (1807), Hanoi Flag Tower (1812) and Bac Ninh City Flag Tower (1838).

The flagpole is located in a campus of about 1,800m2, belonging to the Nam Dinh Provincial Museum, on To Hieu Street (Nam Dinh City). The project was recognized as a National Historical - Cultural Relic in 1962.

According to documents archived at the Nam Dinh Provincial Museum, the Nam Dinh Flag Tower was started in 1812, and completed in 1843 . With the highest architecture of Thanh Nam at that time, the overall height of the flagpole was 23.84m.

After being collapsed by war, in 1997, on the occasion of the 43rd anniversary of the liberation of Nam Dinh City (1954 - 1997), the flagpole was restored to the original architecture.

Tran Temple

Tran Temple (Loc Vuong Ward, Nam Dinh City) has long been known as a famous spiritual tourist destination, a symbol associated with Nam Dinh. This is the place to worship the Tran kings and cadres who were also mentioned in the Tran Dynasty, including the National Artist of Hung Dao Institution, King Tran Quoc Tuan. The temple was built in 1695, including 3 main architectural works: Thien Truong Temple, Co Trach Temple and Trung Hoa Temple.

The architecture of Tran Temple bears an ancient mark with sophisticated carvings, along with intactly preserved artifacts, creating a solemn and sacred space.

Pho Minh Tower

Along with the Tran Temple relic, Pho Minh Tower located at Pho Minh Pagoda (Loc Vuong ward, Nam Dinh city) is one of the famous spiritual addresses, impressing tourists.

Pho Minh Tower is a unique architectural work of the Tran Dynasty that was preserved quite intact, built in 1305. The tower has 14 floors; 19.51m high. The top of the tower is a rock block shaped like a lotus with many layers of wings. The tower is surrounded by a wall and many trees are planted, creating a cool, peaceful space.

Tran Hung Dao Monument

The Hung Dao Institution National Monument under the reign of King Tran Quoc Tuan (also known as Tran Hung Dao) is located at 3-2 Square, Vi Xuyen Lake (on Nguyen Du Street, Nam Dinh City).

This is a statue cast in pure copper and weighs about 21 tons. The statue is 10.22m high; placed on a pedestal 6.5m high. To bring the statue to the above height, the artisan had to cast the statue into 9 pieces (the heaviest part was 2.8 tons, the lightest part was also up to 1.8 tons).

Today, when coming to Nam Dinh City, Tran Hung Dao Monument is a destination that visitors cannot miss. This place is a symbol of culture, history, art and is a source of pride, expressing the respect and gratitude of the people of Nam Dinh for the national hero.

Textile Museum

Also one of the iconic destinations of Nam Dinh City, the Textile Museum is a place to preserve the history of Nam Dinh Textile Factory. This is also considered the cradle of the Vietnamese textile and garment industry, preserving the values and traditional fighting items and production labor of officers and workers in the textile and garment industry in ancient times.

Currently, the museum is located on Hoang Hoa Tham Street, Cua Bac Ward, Nam Dinh City.
