National Highway 70B through Hoa Binh province has a total length of about 10.4 km. The starting point is at Km132+720 in Yen Mong commune, Hoa Binh city - bordering Tinh Nhue commune, Thanh Son district, Phu Tho province; the end point is at Km142+760, in Tan Hoa ward, Hoa Binh city.
In early April 2025, according to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, National Highway 70B is a vital route connecting Hoa Binh with Phu Tho, along the densely populated residential road.
Sharing with PV, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung - a transport business household in Yen Mon commune, said: "Previously, this road section was damaged, making it very difficult for vehicles to travel, especially during the rainy season. The transportation of agricultural products from the locality to the city or to Phu Tho province is slow, and costs have also increased."
According to Mr. Hung, since National Highway 70B was repaired and upgraded in recent years, travel and freight transportation have become much more convenient and faster.
Now the road surface is flat, the drainage system is good, vehicles run more safely. Thanks to that, business is also favorable, there are more customers coming from other places, and the economy of my family and the surrounding people is much better.
"I hope the state will continue to pay attention to and maintain the road regularly so that the quality of the route is always guaranteed, contributing to the economic development of the region" - Mr. Hung expressed.
According to information from the Hoa Binh Department of Construction, National Highway 70B is a route that the Ministry of Transport has entrusted to the locality for management and maintenance.
In recent years, in order to improve operational capacity and ensure traffic safety, Hoa Binh province has implemented many projects to renovate and upgrade the road.
Accordingly, in 2021, the Vietnam Road Administration approved the Economic - Technical Report for damaged repair works on the roadbed, road surface and drainage system on many sections with a total investment of 11.52 billion VND.
By 2023, the locality will continue to invest 13.9 billion VND in repair and reinforcement works for degraded sections.
The total investment cost in the period of 2020-2025 is up to more than 25.42 billion VND.
The leader of the Hoa Binh Department of Construction assessed that National Highway 70B plays a particularly important role in the transport network of the Northwest region.
This is the axis connecting national key national highways such as National Highway 70, National Highway 32C, National Highway 32, National Highway 6, Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway and Hanoi - Hoa Binh - Son La - Dien Bien Expressway (CT.03).
In addition to its role as a regional connection, the route also creates favorable conditions for the development of urban areas in the North of Hoa Binh city, especially the Yen Mong area, contributing to promoting local socio-economic development.
At the same time, with its strategic location, National Highway 70B is also an important corridor in the regional defense front.
Continuing to invest in and upgrade this route is considered a necessary step to ensure synchronous and modern transport infrastructure, serving the economic development of the Northwest region and effectively connecting with the capital Hanoi.
