A nightmare has hit Christopher Nkunku right before the 2022 World Cup when the RB Leipzig striker suffered an unexpected injury during France's training session at Clairefontaine.
The video filmed by RMC Sport in France shows midfielder Eduardo Camavinga having a dangerous tackle that caused Nkunku to reportedly have an ankle injury.
It was thought that this would be a minor injury, but after the results of the medical examination, the French team confirmed that Christopher Nkunku would not be able to participate in the tournament.
The French Football Federation issued a notice: "During training, Christopher Nkunku will have to give up attending the World Cup. It is a real pity for Nkunku and I wish him a quick recovery".
The French team will start their World Cup campaign with a clash with Australia on Tuesday at Al Wakrah.
