Spring Fair 2026 expects revenue to exceed 1,000 billion VND

With increased shopping demand during Tet, the Ministry of Industry and Trade believes that total transaction revenue at the 2026 Spring Fair will exceed 1,000 billion VND.

Stimulating demand, promoting domestic consumption

Speaking at the regular press conference and press meeting of the Ministry of Industry and Trade on the occasion of Binh Ngo Spring 2026 on the morning of January 29, Mr. Hoang Minh Chien - Deputy Director of the Trade Promotion Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) - emphasized: "The first Spring Fair in 2026 is a national-level trade promotion event, opening the annual national fair series, aimed at stimulating consumer demand during Tet, developing the domestic market, promoting the Vietnamese brand and promoting investment - trade - cultural connection".

The event taking place from February 2 - 13, 2026, at the Vietnam Exhibition Center (VEC) is identified as an important highlight in a series of activities to stimulate consumer demand, develop the domestic market and promote the Vietnamese brand during the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026.

With a duration of 12 days, open from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM daily, the 2026 Spring Fair is expected to create a vibrant and continuous trading space, meeting the shopping and cultural experience needs of people and tourists during the peak period before, during and after Tet.

According to Mr. Hoang Minh Chien, the organization of the Spring Fair not only serves the short-term goal of stimulating consumer demand during Tet, but also aims for a longer-term goal of building a comprehensive and professional trade promotion event according to international standards, gradually making Vietnam a regional fair and exhibition center, while ensuring the effective use of state budget associated with socialization, thrift and transparency.

Answering reporters' questions at the press conference, Mr. Hoang Minh Chien said that in the process of implementing the first Spring Fair in 2026, the Government has assigned the Ministry of Industry and Trade to preside over the organization with the clear goal of stimulating demand and promoting domestic consumption.

From the experience of implementing the first Autumn Fair in 2025, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has coordinated with the market management force, Hanoi People's Committee and relevant agencies to effectively implement the inspection and supervision of the quality of goods and services participating in the fair. Thereby, ensuring that goods are of good quality, with clear origins, contributing to the implementation of the Campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods".

The fair also plays the role of a direct bridge, helping to shorten intermediaries, connect manufacturers and distributors with consumers. Thanks to that, businesses can reduce about 15-20% of operating and deposit costs, creating conditions for both businesses and consumers to benefit when shopping at the fair" - Mr. Hoang Minh Chien emphasized.

Regarding expectations, Mr. Hoang Minh Chien shared that, based on the positive results of the first Autumn Fair in 2025, with revenue reaching over 1,000 billion VND and the large participation of domestic and foreign businesses, the Spring Fair is expected to achieve a breakthrough in total revenue during the time it takes place. With the increasing shopping demand during Tet, the Ministry of Industry and Trade believes that the total transaction revenue at the 2026 Spring Fair will exceed 1,000 billion VND of the 2025 Autumn Fair.

Building a national-scale fair system

Regarding long-term orientations, the Ministry of Industry and Trade identifies the construction of a national fair and exhibition system as one of the key tasks to improve cost efficiency in domestic and international trade activities. On that basis, Mr. Hoang Minh Chien informed that the Ministry of Industry and Trade will implement a number of major orientations.

First, standardize the national fair organization model in a professional, modern, and unique direction, ensuring inheritance and intercommunication, and gradually forming trade promotion events with national brand identity and spillover effects in the region.

Second, promote the application of digital transformation throughout the fair chain, from organization, management, communication to domestic trade connection, before, during and after the event, thereby improving efficiency, reducing costs and expanding promotion space, going beyond the time and location limits for organization.

Third, strengthen links between fairs and national-level trade promotion programs and projects, develop domestic markets, national brands and export promotion, ensuring that fair activities closely meet the needs of businesses as well as the development orientation of industries and fields.

Fourth, encourage the participation of the private sector, industry associations and localities, gradually socialize with control the organization and support of fairs; in which, the State plays a constructive role, ensuring quality, efficiency, sustainability and systemicity.
