While the number of COVID-19 cases is increasing and shows no signs of stopping. People in Daegu (Korea) lined up hundreds of meters long to buy masks because they were afraid of COVID-19.

Daegu, the fourth largest city in South Korea, has seen a spike in COVID-19 infections in the past few days. In Daegu and some other places, many people have flocked to supermarkets and pharmacies to buy medical masks and many other items.

The supermarket chain manager said it has imported 2.12 million masks for sale in Daegu city and North Gyeongsang province. Each person can only buy a maximum of 30 units.

Daegu people lined up for several hours to buy masks. However, many people still could not buy masks.

Many shelves quickly ran out of stock.

Previously, on February 23, the Korean government raised the COVID-19 epidemic warning to red - the highest level on the warning scale.

Some locations with many people traveling in Korea such as: offices, wharves... have installed a body checking system for people.

In addition, medical staff have taken COVID-19 prevention measures such as spraying disinfectants and limiting people's travel.

These days, the streets are unusually deserted. Most people wear masks when going out.

The Korea Center for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) recorded 70 more cases of virus corona, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 833 as of the afternoon of February 24.
