Thousands of beds made of metering are being assembled at temporary medical facilities in India, while the country's health system is under great pressure due to the number of new daily infections reaching tens of thousands.
The cheap beds are covered with chemicals to help prevent water seepage and can withstand a load of 300 kg. Vikram Dhawan and his brother came up with the idea during the months-long lockdown previously.
A person can easily defeat it. It is compact, light, and can be manufactured and assembled in a few minutes, Mr. Dhawan told AFP at his factory in the northern Indian city of Bhiwadi, where this bed was produced.
Each roll of cardboard will be processed by industrial machines operated by workers to save labor.
The paper bending and pressing stages are all produced on a mass line.
The most important thing that scientists have studied is that the SARS-CoV-2 virus only exists on the surface of tones for 24 hours. On other surfaces like metal, wood or plastic, it will last three to four days, said Mr. Dhawan.
Each bed has a protective mattress cover so that they can be cleaned and not damaged after any unexpected incidents.
New Delhi authorities are installing 10,000 beds at a field hospital on the outskirts of the city. Mumbai, which is seeing overload in hospitals, is also accepting this type of bed.
