A video filmed in Hunlock Creek, Pennsylvania, USA, is spreading on social media showing two snake fighting for a frog. The smaller snake grabbed food from its opponent, the larger snake, in fear and hesitation.
However, the situation suddenly turned around when the larger snake lost to the smaller snake. The prey escaped from the throat of the larger snake.
Most snake species are carnivores, with their food being small animals such as rhinos, birds, small animals, fish, insects, snails, ...
Because the snake cannot bite or tear off food into pieces, they have to swallow the prey whole.
The snake has a very flexible lower jaw, two of its half is not rigidly attached, with a series of other joints in the snake's skull, allowing the snake to open its mouth big enough to swallow the entire prey, even if this prey has a diameter larger than the width of the snake's body.
