Liên đoàn judo Việt Nam đã được Liên đoàn judo Đông Nam Á trao quyền đăng cai giải đấu trên. Đây cũng là giải quốc tế quan trọng mà judo Việt Nam sẽ tổ chức trong năm nay trên sân nhà.
The Southeast Asian Judo Federation and the Vietnam Judo Federation will inspect the facilities of the Bac Ninh provincial gymnasium before the tournament is held.
According to the plan, 9 regional teams will come to Vietnam to compete in this tournament. The organizers include events for combat and performance (kata) in the 2026 Southeast Asian Judo Championship for men and women. Many events are included in the ASIAD 20 competition program.
The most recent international tournament that the Vietnamese judo team competed in was SEA Games 33 in Thailand at the end of last year. At this Congress, the Vietnamese judo team only won 1 gold medal, 3 silver medals and 8 bronze medals.
Vào tháng 4, Đội tuyển judo Việt Nam sẽ tham dự Giải vô địch châu Á 2026 ở Trung Quốc. Sau giải đấu trên, các võ sĩ sẽ chuẩn bị cho thi đấu vô địch Đông Nam Á trên sân nhà.
Last year, the Vietnamese judo team ranked first overall at the 2025 Southeast Asian Championship held in the Philippines.
