People burst into tears when the bridge was completed
Mr. Cao Phu - a resident of Hoa Khuong commune, Hoa Vang district, Da Nang city - shared that whenever he wanted to go to Dien Tien commune, Dien Ban town, Quang Nam province, he had to take a boat to cross the Yen river.
"Previously, every time we went to Quang Nam, we had to take a ferry across the Yen River. During the rainy season, the water rises and floods, making travel very dangerous, even impossible to get through" - Mr. Phu shared.
Difficult travel has greatly affected the lives, activities and trade of people on both sides of the river. The Yen River used to be not only a geographical boundary but also a barrier to the socio-economic development of the two localities.
Not only Da Nang people, Quang Nam people also face many obstacles in traveling back and forth.
Mr. Nguyen Quang Khang - a resident of Dien Tien commune, Dien Ban town, Quang Nam province - said: "Every time we want to go through Da Nang, we have to take a detour of more than 20km to get to Ba Ra bridge to cross Yen river. The road is long, time-consuming and expensive, making it difficult to do business, study, and visit relatives."
Therefore, when hearing the news of the Quang Da bridge starting construction, people on both sides of the Yen River were extremely excited, looking forward to the day the bridge was completed.
And then on March 27, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Da Nang City, Quang Da Bridge was officially opened to technical traffic. The joy burst over every face of the people when witnessing the bridge connecting the long-standing dream.
"When I heard that Quang Da bridge was open to traffic, I was very happy. Now, traveling between the two localities has become much more convenient. We no longer have to worry about dangerous ferries or expensive routes" - Mr. Phu happily said.
Mr. Khang also expressed his joy: "We hope that the Dien Tien commune area will develop more than before, the economy will flourish, and people's lives will be improved".
leverage for socio-economic development
Quang Da Bridge, a bridge across the Yen River, connecting Dien Tien Commune (Dien Ban Town, Quang Nam Province) and Hoa Khuong Commune (Hoa Vang District, Da Nang City), is an important traffic project with a total investment of more than 274 billion VND from the Da Nang City budget.
The bridge is 1,408m long, designed with 4 modern lanes, meeting the increasing traffic demand. The completion and opening of Quang Da bridge to traffic ahead of schedule is a clear demonstration of the efforts and determination of the government and construction units.
Quang Da Bridge is not simply a traffic project connecting two localities but also has profound political and social significance. The bridge is a symbol of solidarity and friendship between Da Nang and Quang Nam, a testament to close cooperation and mutual development. The route connecting Hoa Khuong commune and Dien Tien commune was a vital route during the arduous years of the resistance war. The construction of Quang Da Bridge is also a deep gratitude for the great contributions of previous generations.
Mr. Le Trung Chinh - Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City - affirmed that the Quang Da bridge project has especially important political and social significance. Investing in the construction of Quang Da bridge not only aims to connect traffic, create momentum for socio-economic development but also shows the concern, sharing and mutual support between Da Nang and Quang Nam on the development path.
Quang Da Bridge is expected to be an important lever, contributing to completing the regional transport network, attracting investment, creating jobs, improving the lives of people on both sides of the river, promoting the socio-economic development of both Da Nang and Quang Nam. At the same time, it opens a new chapter, a brighter future for the cooperation and sustainable development of the two localities.
This is also a testament to the determination of local authorities in investing in infrastructure development, improving the quality of life for people, towards a common prosperous future.
