Resolution No. 76/NQ-CP dated April 10, 2025 of the Government promulgating the Plan to implement Resolution No. 1313/NQ-UBTVQH15 dated September 25, 2024 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the thematic supervision of the implementation of policies and laws on ensuring traffic order and safety.
One of the notable contents in the Resolution, the Government assigned the Ministry of Public Security to assume the prime responsibility and coordinate with the Ministry of Construction and People's Committees of provinces and cities directly under the Central Government to accelerate the construction and deploying the application of information technology in service of the management, inspection and handling of violations in the driving license test. Invest in installing surveillance cameras, traffic management commanders for security and order and handling administrative violations; Modernizing traffic command centers.
It is known that previously, the Ministry of Public Security informed that currently nationwide, the number of devices for monitoring and detecting traffic violations (cold fines cameras) includes: 2,906 cameras.
Of which, the number of systems invested from 2020 to present is 79 systems (1,526 cameras), the number of systems invested from 2019 and earlier: 67 systems (1,630 cameras).
Informing about this issue, the Traffic Police Department said that measures to promote fines through traffic surveillance cameras.
According to the Traffic Police Department, currently, violations of the law on road traffic safety and order are still quite common, posing many potential risks to insecurity and leading to serious traffic accidents, causing great damage to people's lives, health and property.
To contribute to ensuring the safety of traffic participants, local police strengthen the monitoring system and handle violations of road traffic safety and order.
Violations such as drivers participating in traffic not obeying traffic light signals, violating traffic lights, driving in the wrong direction, driving in the wrong lane, stopping and parking in the wrong direction, not wearing a helmet according to regulations, carrying more people than the prescribed number... will be sent to the System Operation Center and notified to the Traffic Police force to handle the violation according to regulations.
The police note that to ensure the safety of themselves, their families and the community, people need to:
Strictly comply with regulations on speed, lanes, and traffic lights.
Wearing a helmet when participating in traffic according to regulations.
Do not use alcohol or beer while driving.
Stop and park at the correct location.
Always carry your identification documents and documents related to the vehicle.
Say no to traffic violations.
