According to parents with children studying at Quy Loc Secondary School (Quy Loc town, Yen Dinh district, Thanh Hoa province), in recent days they have felt frustrated and insecure when right at the school premises, the construction unit sent excavators to dig foundations and erect columns to build a transformer station. This poses a potential danger if the above project is completed and put into operation.
Talking to reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Pham Hong Duc - Principal of Quy Loc Secondary School, Yen Dinh District, Thanh Hoa Province said that the incident as reflected by parents is true. The school has also sent a document to the local authorities to request consideration.
Earlier, at the end of March 3, 2025, Quy Loc Town People's Committee surveyed the location of the transformer station and selected it on the premises of Quy Loc Secondary School. Realizing that the placement of transformer stations here is inappropriate and potentially dangerous for more than 600 students and teachers, the school has submitted to the People's Committee of Quy Loc town (Yen Dinh district) to request not to place the transformer station at this position.
After that, the representative of Yen Dinh District People's Committee, Quy Loc town, the construction unit and the school had a meeting. At the meeting, the school also asked the branches to reconsider the safety level when placing a transformer station on the campus.
The representative of Quy Loc Secondary School also added that, while the agencies did not have any documents or decisions on the construction of the above -mentioned transformer station to the school, on April 2, the construction unit sent the excavator to break a fence, scooping, building columns ... The incident made many teachers and parents pressing.
"Immediately after that, we asked the construction unit to temporarily stop. However, later the town leaders came and continued to let him do it. Up to now, the construction unit has completed the column erection. Regarding this issue, we will continue to make documents to send to the authorities" - Mr. Duc informed.
