On April 8, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung had a meeting and working session with Mr. Greg Norman - Vietnam Tourism Ambassador for the 2018-2021 term.
Appreciating Mr. Greg Norman's activities as Vietnam Tourism Ambassador for the 2018-2021 term, the Minister said that with his personal prestige in the golf industry, Mr. Greg Norman has passed on new energy in the golf tourism industry in Vietnam.
The Minister hopes that Mr. Greg Norman, with his position and role, can coordinate to build a golf academy in Vietnam to train and train Vietnamese golfers to compete in international arenas.
According to the Minister, Vietnam has many advantages to develop golf, if they do a good job of training, athletes can compete well and compete in international arenas.
The Minister also hopes that Mr. Greg Norman will coordinate with the sports industry to organize friendly golf tournaments in Vietnam with the participation of many international athletes. Organizing an international competition will also contribute to attracting many tourists to Vietnam.
In the long term, the Minister hopes that with his prestige and experience, Mr. Greg Norman will advise the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in the management and development of golf in Vietnam.
In particular, the Minister said that it is necessary to soon announce and put Vietnam's international standard golf courses on the world golf map. Thereby, creating investment incentives, welcoming more golfers, contributing to attracting tourists to Vietnam.
Regarding the continued appointment of Mr. Greg Norman as the Vietnam Tourism Ambassador, the Minister said that, due to the influence of CIVI-19 pandemic, the handling of the appointment decision was interrupted, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will hand over the decision to appoint Mr. Greg Norman as the Vietnam Tourism Ambassador in the earliest time.
Hopefully, as the Ambassador of Vietnam Tourism in the coming time, Mr. Greg Norman will continue to contribute more specifically and usefully, with clear products, contributing to the development of Vietnamese tourism, especially golf tourism.
Thereby, affirming the brand, appeal and position of Vietnamese golf with 8 times being voted the Best Golf Destination in Asia, 2 times winning the World's Best Golf Destination award.
