World oil price today
World oil prices today fell sharply. At the end of the weekend trading session, WTI crude oil was at 61.99 USD/barrel, down 4.96 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 7.41%. WTI crude oil closed the previous trading session at 66.95 USD/barrel, opening today's session at 66.64 USD/barrel.

Notably, during the session, there was a time when Brent oil prices decreased to 64.03 USD/barrel; WTI oil prices decreased to 60.45 USD/barrel - the lowest level in the past 4 years.
According to analysts, world oil prices continue to plummet in the context of escalating trade tensions between major economies. China's decision to increase tariffs on US goods has raised concerns about the risk of a global recession.
As the world's top oil importer, China has announced that it will impose an additional 34% tax on all goods from the US from April 10. The move comes after US President Donald Trump raised import tariffs to a more than century-high level, prompting many other countries to prepare retaliatory measures.
Immediately after the US President's announcement, prices of many important commodities such as natural gas, soybeans and gold all fell sharply, while the global stock market plummeted. These fluctuations further strengthen the forecast of the risk of global economic recession.
