On the morning of April 4, TH Group organized an announcement of two key manufacturing companies of TH Group, including TH Milk Joint Stock Company and Nui Tien Clean Water Limited Liability Company, which were certified to achieve carbon neutrality.
For many years, TH Group has been a volunteer enterprise, a pioneer in carbon neutrality in Vietnam. The total amount of emissions neutralized at TH Milk Joint Stock Company was more than 26.6 million tons of CO2; and at Nui Tien Purified Water Company Limited was 11.6 million tons of CO2.
The two companies' carbon-neutral data are confirmed to be in accordance with the requirements of past 2060:2014 - a technical standard developed by the British Standard Institute (BSI), a globally recognized, standardized and transparent approach.
To achieve carbon neutrality, TH Milk Joint Stock Company and Nui Tien Clean Water Limited Liability Company have promoted greenhouse gas emission reduction activities through effective solutions to reduce energy use, switch to green energy, improve equipment, technology, and effectively manage waste.
For TH Milk Joint Stock Company, in 2023, TH true MILK Clean Milk Factory operated by the company stopped running a FO (fossil fuel) boiler and completely replaced it with a boiler running on biomass (this initiative alone helps reduce emissions of more than 7,000 tons of CO2 equivalent per year). All metal halide high-voltage bulbs at the factory have been replaced with LED bulbs, helping to save electricity. Along with that, the factory applied a series of initiatives to both ensure emission reduction and improve production efficiency such as: installing frequency control variants for cold-storage air compressors, replacing low-performance air blowers with high-performance air blowers according to Turbo Blower technology; reinstalling the air pressure used on production lines; installing air valve air conditioners...
At Nui Tien Purified Water Company Limited, solutions and initiatives are implemented synchronously. The company focuses on plastic reduction solutions at the Nui Tien Refinery, Herbs and Fruits Factory such as: removing bottle lids, reducing the weight of plastic in each bottle of water, reducing the thickness of plastic labels. Thanks to this series of solutions, the company reduces about 600 tons of plastic per year.
The carbon neutral status that TH Milk Joint Stock Company and Nui Tien Purified Water Company Limited achieved in compliance with past 2060:2014 standards for the first phase from January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023, and committed to maintaining carbon neutrality for the next phase from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2028.
Mr. Arghya Mandal, General Director of TH Milk Joint Stock Company, representing the two units, said: We focus on internal activities in an effort to be carbon neutral. We compensate for the remaining annual emissions by participating in supporting and accompanying projects to reduce emissions and increase energy efficiency certified according to international standards. Emission reduction efforts are carefully measured by strict calculation methods and verified by third parties to ensure effective emission reduction. All of these compensation programs are in full compliance with the regulations in past 2060:2014.
