It is forecasted that in the evening and night of April 5, due to the impact of weak cold air, the North will have scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places.
In the Northwest, there will be rain, showers and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall of 15 - 30mm, some places over 50mm. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.
The meteorological agency warns that local heavy rains are likely to cause flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes and flooding in low-lying areas. The risk level of natural disasters due to tornadoes, lightning, and hail is level 1.
In the South, in the eastern coast, the tide level is high. The highest water level observed at Vung Tau station was 405cm at 4:00 p.m. on April 3.
From the evening of April 4 to April 5, coastal provinces from Vung Tau to Ca Mau are forecast to have water levels of 395 - 405cm between 0:00 - 5:00 and 13:00 - 19:00 every day.
In the next 24 to 48 hours, the water level in the eastern coast of the South will continue to decrease. The highest water level at Vung Tau station is forecast to be about 385 - 395cm.
Warning of low-lying areas in coastal areas, riverbanks, and areas outside the dykes in the Southeast region that are likely to be flooded in the late afternoon and night. There is a high risk of increased saline intrusion on rivers in the area.
