The Russian military will start receiving next-generation T-14 Armata tanks in 2021, Sergey Chemezov, head of Russian defense corporation Rostec, said and said that this is the most advanced tank on the planet.
The mass delivery of T-14 Armata tanks will begin in 2021. There is no doubt that this is the best tank in the world today. In the future, this type of vehicle will become the main battle tank in the Russian Army" - RT quoted Mr. Chemezov as saying.
The T-14 has been praised by many countries, for example, a British military intelligence report in 2016 called the T-14 "the most revolutionary change in tank design in the past half century".
The T-14 Armata super tang will also be sold abroad and Rostec plans to display it at exhibitions around the world after ending COVID-19 restrictions.
The T-14 Armata will also have an unmanned tank version, while mass-produced drivered versions will be quite automated.
Armata tanks do not need to aim accurately. Automation will do all the remaining things: accurately determine the distance to the target and aim guns at the target, said Mr. Chemezov.
First revealed in 2015 at the Victory Day parade in Moscow, the T-14 is said to be able to counter the firepower of all modern anti-tank artillery towers and tanks, as well as anti-tank missiles and other ammunition.
The tank was designed by Uralvagonzavod, one of Russia's main industrial - military complexes, which has been sanctioned by the US since 2014.
