Closing up... flashing

Hà Lê |

Recently, I often receive flashy phone calls. There were days when I was 6-5 and felt very upset like someone teasing me.

When I asked the staff and friends, it turned out that many people were like me. Previously, there were many strange numbers, calling in the correct type of junk calls to invite to buy real estate, asking to rent a house. Now it is only 1-2 seconds and turn off. Of course, through many information channels, I did not mind calling back because the risk of being scammed and losing money from strange machines was quite high, many lessons were in trouble.

Even while writing these lines, I had a few flashes with the number 024xxx. The problem is what to do to limit this, avoid being upset, frustrated and not falling into the traps of scammers.

Ask a friend who specializes in technology and get advice: To avoid being bothered by flash calls, you can apply the following measures: First, do not call back immediately, especially when they only ring for a few seconds and then turn off the phone. These numbers can be for the purpose of fraud or charging high fees when calling back. Second, find a way to block calls from unknown numbers or numbers that cause trouble. Current smartphones all have phone number blocking features. You can go to call management or call blocking list to add a harassing phone number to the blacklist.

Third, make an effort to use call blocking and spam applications by installing applications such as Truecaller, Hiya, or the network's anti- spam application to automatically detect and prevent spam calls, flashes, and fraudulent calls. Fourth is the need to register for call blocking services from network operators. Contact the phone service provider to request the activation of the filter service and block annoying calls if they provide this service. When you receive multiple phone calls from a strange number, you can look up this phone number on Google or reputable forums to see if someone else has warned about this number.

These are the minimalist solutions that current users can apply. However, in the long term, there needs to be other management tools to clarify the responsibility of network operators. At the same time, authorities need to have technological solutions to trace the roots of phone numbers with flashing devices and consider them as acts that affect social order and security, with the risk of fraud.

It is right for each person to protect themselves, but sometimes the harassed, or targeted as the elderly, or children (using their phones to contact their parents when needed) need the involvement of higher authorities and law enforcement agencies to avoid being harassed or falling into the trap of unfortunate flashes.
