On April 7, information from Hue Central Hospital said that the hospital received 4 patients who were athletes who suffered a stroke while participating in the VnExpress Marathon Hue, taking place on the morning of April 6.
Of which, a female patient died, a male patient is continuing to be monitored and 2 mild cases have been discharged from the hospital.
The deceased patient was Ms. N.T.P. (born in 1972, residing in Hue City). While participating in the race, Ms. P. suffered a stroke and was then transferred to Hue Central Hospital for emergency treatment.
Patient P. was admitted to the hospital in a state of cardiac arrest. Doctors allowed the patient to use a ventilator through the endotracheal tube, but the condition showed no signs of recovery, so the family asked to take him home and he died later.
According to the assessment, the patient had a ruptured cerebral aneurysm and had a history of the disease.
