Worrying because your child cannot be vaccinated

Like the daughter of Ms. Bui Thi Bich Ngan (Cai Rang district), the strep was unstable until she was 18 months old before being vaccinated at Thuong Thanh Ward Health Station (on March 5). Ms. Ngan said that the child had a fever 2-3 days before the vaccination schedule, so everyone in the family was worried.
"I have been delayed for many consecutive months so I am worried. Every time he had a fever, I took him to the hospital to check if he had measles or not to isolate him" - Ms. Ngan recounted.
This mother said that immediately after eliminating the fear of vaccination, she will focus on taking care of the baby's health, including strengthening resistance, personal hygiene, the environment, limiting contact with disease sources... and remembering the vaccination schedule.
The eldest daughter (8 years old) of Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh (Cai Rang district) has also just been vaccinated against measles during the catch-up vaccination period, through a review of the Expanded Immunization Program in Thuong Thanh ward.
"I worked as a worker in Ho Chi Minh City for many years and then moved to Can Tho to live, so I was also subjective about vaccinating my children. Luckily, my child is not infected, now that he has been vaccinated, I am completely relieved. Learning from experience with the child, I will be more cautious," said Ms. Ngoc Anh.
Accelerating campaign implementation
From April 2 to 5, Can Tho City organized a measles vaccination campaign in 2025 at about 80 vaccination points in communes, wards and towns in the area. In this campaign, Can Tho integrates with the implementation of catch-up vaccination for children to review the history of school vaccination, children of the target group in 2024 have not been fully vaccinated in the expanded immunization program.
At each vaccination point, children have their vaccination history checked, screened before getting vaccinated against measles, and are ready for emergency teams with full human resources, medicine, infusion, and means of transportation. List the landline phone number at the vaccination points and arrange staff on duty for timely consultation.
Mr. Tran Van Nhan - in charge of the expanded immunization program, Phu Thu Ward Health Station, Cai Rang District - informed that the positive trend is that recently, many parents have agreed and responded to the measles vaccination campaign for children, so the work has been going smoothly.
"I am very happy that 100% of parents have fully vaccinated their children, or proactively inform their children's health status for health care staff to grasp. At that time, if appropriate, we prioritize measles vaccination first, then regular vaccination in the following periods; combine with further propaganda for people from other places or children of workers undergoing screening to mobilize vaccination", Mr. Nhan added.
It is known that the Can Tho Center for Disease Control (CDC) has allocated over 5,500 doses of measles, measles - rubella vaccine to districts and towns to implement vaccination. To proactively prevent measles, CDC Can Tho continues to recommend that people proactively take children from 9 months to 2 years old who have not been vaccinated or have not been vaccinated with 2 doses of measles vaccine to be fully vaccinated and on schedule.
