This is a rare occasion for a national head of state to visit a football club in Vietnam.
President Burundi Evariste Ndayishimiye and the high-ranking delegation visited the Traditional room of The Cong Viettel club, witnessed the historic trophies, and watched footage of a long-standing and most successful football club in Vietnam. President Evariste Ndayishimiye also paid special attention to youth training, training philosophy and operations of a football club.
President of Burundi Evariste Ndayishimiye shared: I would like to thank Viettel Group for their sincere reception of me. I would like to congratulate The Cong Viettel club. I am very interested in your philosophy. We must have an open spirit and grasp new things. And to do that, it is necessary through sports. We are not just talking about sports with high achievements. Sports are also the value of ethics, discipline and many other humane values. Sports are to orient young people. Congratulations to Viettel Group for having the right orientation in building its team".
In the program, President Evariste Ndayishimiye also discussed cooperation activities between Burundi and Viettel Sports Company, emphasizing that thai players will come to train and study at The Cong Viettel club. Chairman and General Director of Viettel Group Tao Duc Thang highly appreciated this cooperation opportunity.
All players of The Cong Viettel club were present to welcome the high-level Burundi delegation. Captain Bui Tien Dung is honored to be the representative to present flowers to the highest leader of the Republic of Burundi.
Young players U17 Viet Viettel are chosen to perform techniques right at the unit's field.
