On the afternoon of April 4, at the Government Headquarters, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with President of the Republic of Burundi Evariste Ndayishimiye, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam.
At the meeting, the Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh was happy to meet and welcome the President and his wife and the high -ranking delegation to the official visit to Vietnam, emphasizing the meaningful visit when taking place in the context of the two countries towards the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations in 2025 and at the time of Vietnam is happy to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South, the country's reunification and the 80th year of establishment.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh congratulated the important achievements that the country and people of Burundi have achieved under the leadership of President Evariste Ndayishimiye and expressed support for Burundi in successfully implementing the National Development Plan with the goal of turning Turkey into an emerging country by 2040 and a developed country by 2060.
President Burundi was pleased to visit the brotherly country of Vietnam, meet Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh again and witness the outstanding and historic achievements of Vietnam after nearly 40 years of Doi Moi.
The President of Burundi highly appreciated and congratulated the Vietnamese Government on the recent results of socio-economic management, contributing to the successful implementation of the set targets, increasingly improving people's lives.
President Burundi Evariste Ndayishimiye affirmed that Vietnam is a close, close friend and trustworthy partner of Burundi in the Asia region; thanked Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh for his strong direction and commitments in promoting bilateral relations.
The President highly appreciated the activities and practical contributions of the Lumitel Telecommunications Joint Venture, affirmed support for Lumitel to operate effectively, and hoped that Lumitel would expand 5G coverage in Burundi.
The two leaders agreed to promote delegation exchanges at all levels; enhance trade and investment cooperation, science and technology, expand cooperation to new fields such as agriculture, mining, tourism, infrastructure construction, construction materials, hydropower, etc.
Based on the experience of international integration in nearly 40 years of Doi Moi, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his willingness to share experiences with Burundi in areas where both sides have benefits and strengths such as building policies for innovation, international integration, industrialization, agricultural development, production experience, livestock farming, education and training.
The two leaders welcomed the signing of the Memorandum of Memorandum of Memorandum of Political Consulting between the two Foreign Affairs and agreement on the cooperation framework between the two governments, and affirmed that the two countries' agencies will continue to actively negotiate to soon sign more documents to complete the legal framework, facilitating bilateral cooperation.
In addition, the two sides need to enhance mutual understanding, cooperation in training, exchanges, and connections between people and businesses of the two countries to exchange information on culture, people, business practices, cooperation opportunities, etc., creating a premise to promote bilateral economic cooperation.
