On April 4, Da Nang Statistical Office said that there was a report on the socio -economic situation in March and the first quarter of 2025 signed by Mr. Tran Van Vu, Director of Da Nang Statistical Office. According to the Statistics Office, in the first quarter, Da Nang economy grew positively. The gross product in the area (GRDP) quarter I.2025 is estimated to increase 11.36% over the same period in 2024. In which many key projects have many positive progress. The highlight is the Lien Chieu port project - the shared infrastructure part, with a total investment of 3,426 billion dong. By the end of the first quarter, the project has implemented VND 2,190 billion. The coastal road project connecting Lien Chieu port, total investment of 1,203 billion dong, is also being accelerated, reaching the accumulated construction volume of 525 billion dong.
In addition, the main water drainage project from the downstream of high -tech drainage canals to the flood canal of Hoa Lien commune, with a total investment of VND 817 billion, has also started and achieved the volume of VND 37 billion in the first quarter. This project will improve the drainage system, contributing to reducing flooding and improving the quality of life for people.
The real estate sector also recorded excitement with many large projects. The Nobu Residences Da Nang project, with a total investment of VND3,687 billion, has completed 31.1% of the work. The New Town project (formerly VinaCapital Golf Course Da Nang) with a total investment of VND4,889 billion also achieved a progress of 39.6%. In addition, FPT's two Plaza 3 and 4 apartment buildings, with a total investment of VND 3,604 billion, have completed 26.7% of the work.
About VND23,335 billion to invest in Da Nang seaport
At the end of March, the Ministry of Construction approved the Detailed Planning for the development of land and water areas of Da Nang seaports for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.
According to the plan, the Da Nang seaport system by 2030 will include Tien Sa, Lien Chieu, Tho Quang, My Khe wharf areas... and anchorage, transfer, storm shelter and shelter wharf areas. It is expected to invest in 12 to 15 wharves with a total of 20 to 23 wharves, with a total length of 4,220m to 5,745m. This system will meet the demand through 23 to 29 million tons of goods and receive from 532,300 to 597,000 visitors.
The investment capital demand for the seaport system is estimated at about VND23,335 billion. Of which, the investment capital for public maritime infrastructure is about VND6,505 billion and the direct investment capital for ports is about VND16,830 billion.
The plan also proposes that after 2030, the function of Tien Sa port area will gradually be converted into a tourist port. By 2050, Da Nang City will continue to develop new ports to meet the demand for goods passing through, with an average growth rate of 4.5% to 5.5%/year.
Lien Chieu Port is oriented to develop with a total scale of 22 ports, including 8 liquid/ air cargo ports, 8 container ports and 6 general and cargo ports, to meet the demand for growth of goods in the future.
