Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang noted that the General Department of Politics should strengthen leadership and direction in doing a good job of ideological, organizational and policy work in adjusting the organization of the military force to be lean, compact and strong.
Building the Army to 2025 to be basically lean, compact, and strong
Talking to the press, General Nguyen Tan Cuong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Chief of Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Minister of Defense - said that the adjustment of the "fine, compact, strong" organization is an indispensable, objective and urgent requirement, meeting the requirements and tasks of building an army in the new situation.
This is a consistent and correct policy, demonstrating the thinking and strategic vision of our Party and State to build a truly lean, compact, and strong Army by 2025, creating a solid foundation to strive for a revolutionary, disciplined, elite, and modern People's Army by 2030.
In order to implement the above policy, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of Defense have directed thoroughly and seriously and effectively deployed the Resolution of the 13th Congress of the Party and the Politburo's Resolutions and conclusions on the construction of the military, compact and strong; steadfast in the principle of building a strong political army; pay attention, take care of building high quality human resources, innovating training and training; Regularly review and consolidate the organization, payroll and equipment of each agency and unit, build and develop the defense industry to meet the requirements of modernizing weapons and technical equipment.
According to General Nguyen Tan Cuong, up to now, the army organization has been adjusted in the direction of refined, compact and strong, suitable to the national defense policy and people's war; improve the quality of human resources, gradually equip new and modern weapons; Having a reasonable structure and troops, ensuring balance and synchronization between force components, with synthetic quality, strength, qualifications, ability to fight and fight higher and higher, meeting the requirements of career consolidation of defense, firmly defending the Fatherland in the new situation.
Building the Army must ensure political sophistication, organization, in accordance with the conditions and economic capacity of the country, in accordance with the functions and tasks of each agency and unit; promote the power of modern weapons and equipment to successfully carry out all assigned tasks.
