On the afternoon of April 10, Major General Huynh Thoi An - Deputy Director of the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department (Ministry of Public Security), and a working group inspected the scene and worked with the locality about the house fire that killed 4 people, which occurred in the early morning of the same day in Ward 4 (My Tho city, Tien Giang province).
Major General Huynh Thoi An and the working group inspected the scene, discussed with leaders of the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department (Tien Giang Police), leaders of the People's Committee of Ward 4, Ward 4 Police, heads of the neighborhood and households living around the burning house about the locality's propaganda on fire prevention and fighting; warrants when fires occur; how to handle fires; whether households are equipped with hand-carried fire extinguishers or not...

Previously, at around 1:29 a.m. the same day, people around discovered a lot of smoke coming from Ms. H.T.T.'s house at 209/3, Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street (Ward 4, My Tho City).
Because the house is located in a very narrow alley (about 1m), all efforts to support the fire fighting of the people were unsuccessful because the homeowner had locked 2 solid locks inside.

Upon receiving the report, the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department (Tien Giang Police) mobilized many forces and vehicles to participate in fire fighting. At about 2:45 a.m. the same day, the fire was basically extinguished; all property in the house was completely damaged.

Investigating the scene, the authorities discovered 4 victims who died after the fire at a house at 209/3 Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street (Ward 4, My Tho City), including: Ms. H.T.T.T (born in 1976), Mr. N.M.H (born in 1968), Ms. H.T.N.D (born in 1978) and N.H.K.D (born in 2007).
Currently, the police are continuing to investigate the cause of the fire.
