More than 68,000 workers have housing needs
According to a survey by the Department of Construction, there are currently about 2,250 people in urban areas and 68,000 people (accounting for more than 18% of the total number of workers) in industrial parks with demand for social housing.
The selling price of commercial housing projects in Hai Duong is beyond the financial capacity of the majority of workers and laborers. Meanwhile, the scale of social housing is still limited, not enough to meet the needs. Many workers are forced to rent houses at high prices with poor quality, affecting the quality of life.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa, a worker in Dai An Industrial Park, shared: "My monthly salary is not high, while the rental price of accommodation near the industrial park is increasing. Buying a commercial home is almost out of reach. We really hope that social housing policies will be implemented quickly so that workers like me have the opportunity to settle down and work."
Ms. Tran Thi Mai, a worker in Nam Sach Industrial Park, also shares the same concern: "My family has two young children, the monthly rent accounts for most of our income. If we have social housing at reasonable prices and loan support policies, we will have the opportunity to buy a house and stabilize our long-term life. Hopefully, social housing projects will be implemented soon to help workers have stable housing".
